lacanian reading of psychosis in the blind owl

the prominent french psychoanalyst, jacques marie émile lacanand his theories describing the unconscious, has created a huge transformationin literary criticism. he uses freud’s concept of the unconscious andsaussure’s linguistics to explain the new framework of the concept of theunconscious. this paper is an attempt to apply the theories of lacan in thenarrator of the blind owl written by a contemporary writer sadeq hedayatas a subject of psychosis. psychosis is a mental illness which is characterizedby the patients’ disability to encounter the realities of their surroundinglives. the isolation and separation from society, is the beginning of illusionsin which case, the patient thinks himself worthy of the ideal world. so, weexpress at the beginning the application of this theory in the realm of“imaginary,” the realm of the “symbolic” and other terms, then we  review the blind owl’s narratoraccording to the implications of lacan’s theories.
